Winds of Change: Understanding today's changing audience to shape tomorrow's arts organization

Change is happening everywhere; from the national stage to our local institutions and that change is being lead by the people, our audiences. They are seeking authentic, engaging, 21st century experiences and who better to deliver that than the arts. Diane Ragsdale sums up this cultural change as "…we are seeing a profound shift in the interrelated relationships between people, space, time, and art, and changes in the ways that people create, consume, commune, and communicate."

Join us for this "big picture" Breakfast Club where we will discuss two insightful and inspiring pieces on the shifting landscape as well as some suggestions on new marketing strategies and practices.  We'll also do a brief self evaluation exercise based on the Seven Pillars of a 21st century Arts Organization created by Morris and McIntyre.

You will receive a link to the two readings in your confirmation email. If you have any questions, please contact Melissa Cooper, Marketing & Events Assistant at 215.399.3524 or melissac@philaculture.org

Breakfast Clubs bring cultural marketers and arts professionals together to read; critique and learn from secondary marketing research. Each attendee will receive the selected research and discussion questions in advance of the session. There will be a brief presentation at the beginning of the session which will be followed by in depth small group discussions.

Breakfast Clubs are supported by The Wallace Foundation and The Philadelphia Foundation and are a program of the Cultural Alliance’s research and marketing initiative Engage 2020. Engage 2020 is sponsored by a lead grant from The Pew Charitable Trusts, with additional support from The Wallace Foundation and The Philadelphia Foundation.
